They might have scored a lot better if they were able to stay calm and concentrate on the test.

But it is quite obvious for anyone to get anxious and stressed out on the day before the exam. It is obviously a very important test and thought of failure are bound to set in and make you extremely nervous. This does not apply to only those people who haven’t prepared well for the test. You might have undergone excellent GMAT exam preparation, but still you are bound to get stressed. Here are a few tips that you should keep in mind to help you stay ready for the test next day.

  1. Cramming on the last day is the worst possible idea that you can have. If you haven’t studied for it by this point, you can’t expect to cram it up on the last day. Trying to stuff more and more stuff at this point of time is going to overload your brain and make you forget the things that you already practised beforehand. You won’t be able to absorb any of the new topics and eventually they are just going to confuse you during the main exam.
  2. One of the most important things that you need to figure out on the last day is the route that you are going to take to reach your exam centre. Plan it up beforehand so that you can figure out the kind of traffic that you will be encountering and how much ahead in time you should leave your house. If you plan on driving there, then know the roads well and also check for any possible blocks. Otherwise if you are going to take public transport then figure out which buses you need to take.
  3. Pack the bag you are going to take beforehand so that you have one less thing to worry about on the test day. Remember all the things that you will need during the test and put them carefully in the bag. Remember to take your photo id and the admission ticket with you. Without these you won’t be able to sit for the test.
  4. You need to rest well before the test so that your body is energised and is at full capacity to help you ace that test. GMAT institutes will advise to not keep studying late night on the last day and instead have a good night’s sleep. This will help you extremely while you write the test.
