Muay Thai is a martial arts discipline, one that gives not only a strong body but also a strong mind. Muay Thai is about using all parts of your body at all times – the eight limbs – and is about strength, body building, fitness and weight loss. Importantly, it is as much about the discipline as it is about the physicality. A gym that offers boxing does offer a few different kinds of boxing and offers one-one-one sessions and group sessions. Muay Thai might not be the discipline for you but boxing with cross training might be, or general boxing for fitness might be.

Go in and watch a session or two, and talk to the trainers. You may even be offered a free session as a trial session, and if you do, take it. Trying something out is the only way you will know if you like it. Muay Thai might be too much for you, although we don’t think so, but look at the different boxing sessions on offer and also, ask the trainer. They will assess you and give you their opinion too.
When you start boxing, start slow. If you haven’t boxed before, you are going to feel it in every part of your body and you don’t want to be so stiff that you cannot walk. A good trainer will lead you well. You will definitely find a Muay Thai Sydney gym so do yourself a favour and pop in.
