Monrovia
Monrovia houses over 1 million Liberians and is a great energy place, and is the country’s largest city. Rubbing taxis float around the pot-holed roads around the middle, while Broad Street’s busy boulevard is an image of life between the meanders of the river Messurado and the Atlantic ocean.
You should expect the intriguing National Museum to tour here and the story of Liberia’s coups and counter-coups, civil wars, and diplomatic routes in a speeding desert Ducor hotel. You’re invited to find the beer bars and the faded ruins of old townhouses of the 19th century.
Sapo National Park
The Sapo National Park is the only national park in the world, covering over 1808 square kilometers. The luxuriant rainforest species is full of pygmy pine trees, forest elephants, monkeys, antelope, etc. The park from Monrovia takes in between days. The new primary rainforests of Africa are situated in this park.
You can spy on Diana monkeys, crocodiles, leopards, speckles and chimpanzees, pygmy hippopotamus, and crested white. There is still a fascinating past to unravel, with dark incidents here during the civil wars in Liberia and a full gold rush in the early 1990s.
Buchanan
Buchanan’s seaside town is an excellent introduction to West Africa’s coastal character and situated about three hours from the capital’s bush taxi south.
Both the beaches are undeveloped into the T and swinging palms, and local children’s groups play in the lowlands. Many chose to camp here, and some hit the city itself, looking for one of the few guesthouses lurking amid the crowded markets and the streets. There are also a number of beach bars between the collapsed bamboo huts on the island.
Gbarnga
While Gbarnga can seem like just another sizable rambling town from the vast mud plains and forests of Liberia’s inland, this regional capital of Bong County is sleeved a little over history and heritage.
In the first place, wherein the 1980s and 1990s, the notorious political and guerrilla leader Charles Taylor orchestrated numerous civil wars throughout the country. The town still houses Cuttington University, one of the country’s most renowned colleges, more than 100 years old.
